School is dismissed for faculty meetings on the first Friday of each month unless noted otherwise on the school calendar. Other early dismissal days are the following:
  • Curriculum planning workdays
  • Parent-Teacher conference week
  • Days preceding Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays
  • Last day of school (10:30 dismissal).
Extended Day opens daily at 6:45 a.m. and closes at 6:00 p.m. Extended Day  is available on minimum days. First priority is given to children enrolled in the program.
Children may not be left on the school grounds without adult supervision before and after school. Saint Bonaventure School accepts no liability for the supervision of children not enrolled in the Extended Day program. The yard supervision paid personnel have other responsibilities and do not supervise children before 7:40 a.m. and after 3 p.m. (12:45 p.m. on minimum days).
Students remaining on campus after 3:00 P.M. will be placed in Extended Care, and parents will be billed for charges accrued. If after-school sports activities begin after 3:00 P.M., students must leave the campus and return for practices/games or check into Extended Day.

School Closure
In addition to holiday vacations, teacher in-service days require the school to close for a full day. Parents will receive notification in September of the scheduled minimum days, holidays and teacher in-service days.
School may be cancelled unexpectedly during exceptional circumstances. The administration is fully aware of the hardships incurred by an abrupt cancellation of school. Consequently, school cancellation will occur rarely, and usually for conditions that pose a significant safety risk to the children and staff such as the following:
  • Extreme weather conditions
  • Equipment failure
  • Disasters (earthquake, tsunami, chemical spills, etc.)
  • Public crisis
  • Disease epidemic
  • Recommendation of the diocesan or parish offices.
