Health Center
The health room is open from 7:55 A.M. to 2:45 P.M. and is staffed by a health technician.

Phone number: (714) 846-8342

The school health technician is not a medical doctor or registered school nurse; she cannot diagnose medical conditions. Its purpose is to provide limited interim care for your child in case of injury or illness that may occur during school hours. Under no circumstances should the health room be considered an infirmary. We will not provide care for children whom are coming down with or convalescing from an illness. The maximum stay in the health room is 20 minutes. The school Health Room technician arranges for screening for scoliosis, vision, and hearing during the course of the school year. Outside agencies are used and a fee is charged.

Please remember:
  • Please keep children home until they are fully recovered from any illness.
  • A child who has been suffering from a communicable disease must conform with County Health Regulations before returning to school
  • If your child will be absent from school, please call the health room
before 9 A.M., providing your child's name, teacher's name, and the reason for absence.
  • If you need to take your child out of school for part of the day, he/she must be signed out in the health room, and signed back in upon return.
  • Should a student become injured or ill, a parent will be phoned. Students will not be sent home without parental permission.
  • If the health room calls, please come immediately. We do not take responsibility for the effects of delayed care upon your child.
  • In cases of serious injury or illness when parents cannot be reached, the administration will call the paramedics.
  • It is important to keep your emergency card up-to-date with the numbers of your home, office, cell phone/beeper and those authorized by you to pick up your child in case you cannot be reached. Please notify us immediately if the information on your emergency cards is changed.
  • No one under the age of 25 may pick up a child unless he/she is noted on the emergency card and a letter is on file with the school, granting permission. In case of emergency, send a written letter of permission or FAX a signed letter the school office (714) 840-0498.
